Why is that?
Here's a fascinating video that explains how Thailand is working toward real solutions to help put an end to poverty by helping women, and supporting family planning. The whole video is very interesting, but within the first few minutes, the narrator explains how the church got involved to encourage women to use birth control and to bless condoms. Meanwhile, in the U.S., we have groups that are doing everything in their power to prevent sex education, family planning services, and in effect, keeping those in poverty in poverty.
It's really a sad commentary on our own country that Thailand is so much more advanced than we are when it comes to innovation to actually help, rather than condemn, the poor.
