2 Bumps

PLEASE help!

I have THE worst eating habits by far. Pretty much it's all pastas, pizza, Mcdonalds, Hamburger helper, sweets, soda, etc. I hate lettuce, mushrooms, anything that swims under water, pretty much anything healthy. Well I'm starting P90X tonight and I just don't see how I can make their meal plan work. Some recipes are fine. But most are repulsing to me. Sooo what should I do? Do you think that Weight Watchers would be ok to use with P90X? I want to start eating healthier and healthier. But let's be realistic, I'm not just going to be able to wake up tomorrow and turn into a health freak! I mean calorie counting is better than nothing right? Because right now that's all I'm doing; Nothing.

  • I did a Google search and found that people do WW and P90X together.

    Good luck!

  • People do P90X without following THEIR meals...as long as you eat the right amount of calories (not too few and not too many) - and drink water, you should be ok. Eat the healthy things you DO like and cut down on some of the really unhealthy stuff.

  • Grow up and eat vegetables. Screw not liking them, find a way to eat them that you will enjoy, like peanut sauce, curries or stirfries.

I have a ton of recipes that are tasty, healthy, simple, family and budget friendly; send me a message offlist if you would like some.

  • You can actually change your taste buds. All that food you love is addicting and hard to get off of. I know how you feel. I go on fasts where I eat nothing but fruit and veggies, and it really helps, I lose weight so fast and start craving more of the healthy stuff:) You can do it, don't expect perfection, just aim for eating healthy 90% of the time even if you have to start out at 50% first. Like if you go to Mcd's, you have to eat a huge homemade salad first, ect.

  • How you prepare healthy food can impact your reception. I hate salad but love vegetable stir-fry. You can bake, steam, stir-fry, poach, roast, and grill vegetables. Try seasoning them with spices, marinades, or glazes.

If you're starting with small changes, make easy replacements. Replace pasta with whole-wheat pasta, bread with whole-wheat bread, and so on. Eat fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Cut soda out of your diet or have a diet soda once in a while. Replace red meats with lean poultry and fish.

Personally, I think one of the most important things is cooking from scratch. There is so much crap in processed food. Even cooking a hamburger helper-type dish from scratch with real cheese and adding a ton of vegetables is a start.
