For multiple Disney trippers

I went to Disney every year when I was growing up, but that's been a while! I am in the early stages of planning a Disney trip in the next year or so. Is it less crowded generally around spring break (mid April) or during the summer, or is there a difference between the two? Is it less crowded in October or February if I just take the kids out of school? Is 5 days long enough or should I plan on a full week? My kids are now almost 2, 3, 11, 12, and 14 (my 14 yo has autism so his interests skew young - we are taking my inlaws as well!) if that makes a difference. This will be my husbands first time at Disney and probably the only time all 7 of us (plus inlaws) will go. Any MUST do or see things, or something that a lot of people don't know about? Thanks!

  • I have been to disneyland nce a month for a year.
If you want to know when the busiest times are, go onto their website and look at their annual passes. Find the cheapest one, the one with a lot of blackout dates. The BIG block of blackout dates, usually means it is a very very busy and crowded time. And anydays that are not holidays (summer break, christmas break, spring break), and are weekdays are wonderful to go on. We usually went during the week, like a tuesday, and never waited langer than 25 min.

  • I know DisneyLAND is usually packed during spring break, and most of summer really. We usually go in October or early Decemeber and there's virtual no crowds.

  • I live in FL. I would go sometime between November and early March. October is still pretty hot here most of the time - we get a few cool days, but they're very hit or miss. By late March, it's often starting to warm up, plus the kids here are on Spring Break, and then you get the college spring breaks. Summer is bad for it, it's too hot to really enjoy and it's super crowded.

  • I have been to Disney before and it was summer and so packed, we plan to take our girls within the next year now that our youngest is old enough to remember it, and we plan to go in Feb or March that way it won't be too hot for one and the crowds won't be as bad.

  • January and February are great times to go. The spring break season is quite busy. FL schools have a dfferent spring break schedule than a lot of the country, usually earlier, so that's when FL residents tend to go. Mid September and October are also good times to go, but unbearably hot.

  • My family's favorite time to go to Disney World is actually the day after Christmas, & we stay through new year's day. It's not crowded, the decorations are gorgeous, it's been cheaper, it's not swelteringly hot, & on New Year's Eve, there's an INCREDIBLE fireworks display!

  • Any time kids are out of school is not the best time to go. I think Oct would be a great time, less people and it is a little cooler.
