What is prenatal surgery?

I just saw this term, does that mean they operate on the fetus in utero? I've never heard of this, is it possible?

  • I seen a surgery performed once on the discovery or learning channel it was very amazing, too detailed to describe but was very interesting what they can do to help a baby before it's even born.
