Does a fetal Scope work on Overweight women?

I want to buy a fetalscope because it doesn't expose the baby to ultra sound waves like the doppler does but I am over weight. I read something last night that said it didn't work on over weight women.

Is this true? Are there any overweight women that have sucessfully used a fetalscope? I'm almost 18 weeks pregnant.

  • Buy a bebe sounds at walmart it is safer than a doppler and you can record also.
Otherwise you need to be further along almost third trimester for it to work.

  • But it is better/safer than a doppler and cheaper than a fetal scope.
    They have improved them also.
Worth a try for her and she can return it if it does not work.

  • I have a Bebe Sounds and it's a complete waist of money. We even tried it on my friend who weighed 105 before pregnancy and gained about 40 pounds. It never worked.

A fetal Scope is an actual medical devise that is like the scope they use to listen to your heart.

It's NOT a doppler so it's safe. I just want to know if it works.
