Is bond money refunded??

If someone bails you out of jail and you show up for court does that money get refunded??

  • Not if you went through a bail bondsman and paid the 10%. If you paid the full bond to the court clerk, then yes.

  • When you pay a bondsman a percentage all you're doing is giving him an amount to have him put up the bond. The bondsman puts up the bond (his own money) to the court and when you show up for court then the bondsman gets HIS money back.... you do not get anything back. You are not really paying a portion of your bond... you're paying the bondsman for putting up his money..... that's how bondsmen make their money (well mostly)...... they use the same $10K over and over and get $1000 every time they do.
