3 Bumps

Just saw this on a blog - leaving kids in the car to do school work. Agree, disagree?

You're a homeschooling mom, you've had trouble finding time to get to the gym. To remedy this, you bring your kids to the gym with you and have them do workbooks for an hour, in your van, while you're at the gym.

The kids are five and seven.

I strongly disagree.

  • Heck no, in most places that's against the LAW! Why couldn't the kids go in and sit quietly while mom worked out? Why did they HAVE to stay in the van?

  • 9:30 - Leave for the gym; kids work on Spelling and Phonics workbooks in the van
10:30 - Drive home from the gym; kids finish Spelling and Phonics workbooks (if necessary)

  • That's dumb. They need to be in a place where the temperature is regulated and obviously supervised. There are places like the Y that do drop in care for kids of all ages.

  • Lol I think we're reading this wrong. She does state she'd like to make better use of driving time, so I think she means the kids do the workbooks on the way there. She doesn't say while they wait an hour in the van! Lol. Plus she does mention the heat, and about having them play outside early, so obviously hot weathet is a factor for her lol. I honestly just think it was misread!
