how long does it take?

for cps to respond to a call? i called them last week on my neighbour and still nothing.. how long?

  • I think they have 24-48 hours for an emergency which is something like report of molestation, etc. And they have up to 7 days for things they consider non emergency like a messy house, or whatever.

  • It depends on how serious the complaint was. If the child is believed to be in immediate danger of death they have 24 hours to see the kid. If it is not terribly serious they have longer.

  • If you feel that the child(ren) are in danger due to neglect or violence, then you need to call 911. Then the police officers will call cps.
