  • Did you ever take her to the vet like everyone said to?

Most cats in shelters were considered nuisances by their owners because they mis-behaved when there was a legitimate health problem with them. People don't want to deal with it so they pass the responsibility (and problems) on to other people.

    TAKE HER TO THE VET!

If I lived close enough I'd take the cat myself.

Get on your local freecycle and give her away for free.  Many people on those boards are looking for pets.

  • You know we had similar problems with our kitty when we brought him home from the humane society. It was a big adjustment for him. Is she stressed about another pet or maybe your reaction? Do you have her fixed? That could make a difference....why not try yo teach her to use the litter box, some cats do need to be taught. Keep and eye on her like a puppy and if you see her start to scratch put her in the litter box. Some cats don't like them covered, some don't like it to have more then a couple inches of litter. I would try a few different things. These are simple fixes that could be the root of the problem. As for scratching, that's what they do make a post for her or buy one. My cat wouldn't stay off the counters I out packing tape on the edges upside down and one time of him jumping on that and he never did it again. Where is A.V.??
