Has anyones child had a laceration that the Dr. called a "bleeder"?

My dd was at school today (age 3) and she fell from a slide and busted her head wide open.

I work there too and I went running to her and she was COVERED in blood from head to toe and the floor was covered too. It was SCAREY.

By the time we got to the car I was covered too. It happened at about 10:30 this morning and it is still oozing a little.

The Dr said it was a "bleeder" but didnt need stitches. He said if it started up bleeding again to apply pressure for as long as she would sit still.

Anyone ever heard of this?

  • Head wounds bleed like nothing else. Even a small wound will bleed tons. He was probably just trying to be reassuring but it didn't work.
