Hard Bread

Does leaving your bread on top of the refrigerator harden your bread somehow? That is where we keep ours and it's all really hard, and not even close to being old.

  • I can't think what the difference would be between on top of the refrigerator and on the kitchen counter. For some refrigerators there may be more air flow from the motor in the refrigerator, but if the bread is in a sealed wrapper, I don't think that would matter.

  • it could have been almost expired when you bought it? or maybe it wasn't all the way sealed...?

  • depends and what kind of bread and how it was wrapped. If you are talking about french bead, wet it and re-bake it! Or sliced bread, spritz with water and toast
