potty training!

my son is only 13 months, and ive been thinking about potty training, i dont think i want to start yet....

but i have a boy! how do i potty train him??
my doctor says not to start till hes 2 years, and i dont think hes mentally able to start potty training yet... but when we are ready to start how do i go about doing it?


also, thanks for everyone who helped me with the "peeing threw his diaper" the over night diapers work AWESOMELY and he diesnt wake up in the middle of the night any more!! yay!

  • You simply teach him to sit, just like you do, and you teach him to push down gently on his parts so he's aimed into the potty.
    Teaching young toddlers to pee standing up is a recipe for diaster. Did you know that where your eyes look, your body will follow? Bicylists and motorcyclists know this. Mothers of little boys standing up to pee know it too. As he gets bored, standing there waiting to pee, he will look around the room. And his body will twist to follow his eyes. And his pee will go all over the place.
    Wait until he sees other boys standing up to pee and asks to do it that way. Then you can give him targets to shoot for to improve his aim.
