What is the proper attire for a girl at Vacation Bible School?

It's a Methodist church. I wondering if she should wear a dress every day? Is it inappropriate for her to wear shorts or pants?

They will probably have some arts & crafts & other activities planned that I'd probably send her in shorts. I don't think they want them to dress their Sunday Best for VBS. Hope she enjoys it. My dau has been to VBS for the past few years & always enjoys it. :)

Thanks, ladies. DD has several skirts and capris that I think will work just fine. I'll send her in a skirt the first day and take notice of what the other kids are wearing.

Shorts are fine. For my church, they recommend fingertip length shorts and shirts with at least 2 fingers width on the straps (no spaghetti straps). It's Southern Baptist, so pretty close to Methodist.

I went to bible camps (catholic) we wore regular summer clothes. It was just camp with a little religious studies and religious songs. We still did all the fun summer camp stuff.

It is summer school, not going to church on Sunday. We always wore shorts and a t shirt to VBS, unless it was chilly, then we wore jeans and a t shirt.

VBS was always casual when I was growing up. I wore what I would have normally worn to regular school, and my mom was the type who thought women/girls should only ever wear dresses or skirts to church.

Send her in a dress the first day and get a feel for how the other children are dressed the following day.

I would recommend contacting the church and asking

they may have a restriction on the length of the shorts (if shorts are even allowed)

I am sure you have summe outfits ou would take her out in not dressy but not play clothes, I would go with stuff that is comfy and you would let her wear out to a movie or dinner etc.

It is very hot here so shorts make sense to me. This is her first year going and I don't know anything about the church really; she was invited by her grandpa. I don't want to offend anyone. My mother would says shorts and pants should never be worn inside a church.
