Do your let your kids sleep late?

Or do you wake them up at a certain time each morning. It's 9:45 here and my 5 year old is still asleep. My neighbor just dropped by and was shocked that DD is asleep. She claim" she wakes her 5 year old up at 7 am every morning to keep her on schedule.

So, I'm your kiddos sleep late??

  • If foe some really weird reason my kids sleep in (they are normally up at like 6:30-7:30) I do not let them sleep past 8:30. This has happened like maybe 2 times int he last year! lmao!

  • I woke at 7am today and my 8 yr old was already up. We all go to bed early and get up early during the week so, if one of the kids needs to sleep in one day, I let them. I figure their little body needs some extra sleep

  • I don't wake them unless I NEED to, like today. We have to be an hour away by 10:30, so I woke them at 8:30 so they could eat and get ready.

  • I get my 8 year old up by 930 at the latest. It works for us. He still goes to bed at 9 pm on school nights, so it's not affecting his sleep. My 10 year old on the other hand will be up on his own by 7 am with a 9 pm bedtime. Both of them are allowed to stay up 1-2 hours later with it being summer, and they're still getting up around their usual wakeup times. As long as it doesn't affect their bedtimes, I don't see the point of adhering to an earlier wakeup time.

  • If my DD would actually sleep past 7am, I would definitely let her. Unfortunately she is an early riser.

  • It's summer so yes I do! When they were in school, I wouldn't let them sleep too late. They are usually up by 9.

  • I would kind of like it if mine were to sleep in. They get up at 7 am every school day and they are up on all the other days before 7.30 am. Sometimes I just wish they would sleep ... and let the rest of us have the occasional lie in.

  • School's out and sunset is late. If my 5-YO wants to sleep till nine, I'll let her. After nine I start wondering if I should wake her up.

  • If it's not a school day no I don't wake them.... if they are still sleeping it's because they need the sleep. Why would I interrupt that!

  • It's funny...right as I typed the question she got up! My dd sleeps 12 hours every night. She has since she was about 1 yrs old. We stayed up a little later last night just so we could finish a puzzle we've been working on.
