1 Bump

Breastfeeding & breast is sore on top & feels kind of hard...

baby is 1 week old & this is my 2nd. never had that problem w the 1st & also there's white stuff on my nips is that thrush? other than that baby is eating well & eager to eat when it's time.

  • Sounds like a blocked duct, they usually go away in 24 hours. The white stuff sounds like thrush, I think you might get a topical antibiotic for that.

  • What I did for the blocked duct is I'd nurse my DD while my DH massaged by boob.

  • switching positions also helps - if you use the cradle hold all the time, try the football hold and side-lying while nursing - it puts baby's mouth in different positions to drain all the ducts. i had the same problem.
