Twins

Are there any sets of twin (or triples, etc.) in your child's grade at school?

In DD's school, her grade has 4 sets of twins...and I just found out the other day that there is at least one more set at another elementary school in our district (will go to same high school). There could easily be more that I just haven't heard about (we have three elementary schools).

I had one in my class at one school and then two in my class at another (same area, different district)...I've heard multiple birth numbers are on the rise, but FIVE (or more) just seems like a huge number of twins in one school grade.

  • In the in-coming freshman class in the high school one town over there will be 18 sets of twins and 2 sets of triplets. I understand they will be in the Guiness book of records. My son went to school with several sets of twins, his class had over 600 kids, I don't remember how many twins were there, but at least two sets were close friends of his. In the PreK where I work, we usually have 4 or 5 sets each year.

  • There was a set of twins in my DD's Pre-K class. They were identical & they're mom always dressed them exactly the same. Which can be cute for pictures, I guess but, seems really strange to me to do daily.

  • In the school i work at there are 3 sets of twins in the fourth grade (out of 5 classes) I don't know if there are any in the other 4th grades in the other elementary school. (prob. another 7 classes) I think in each grade there's at least 1 set. My son had a pair of identical twins in his class this year. I think there were 1 or 2 mores sets in his grade too. (6th grade- 300kids) When my mother graduated (in 1966) her and my aunt were one of 3 sets of twins in her graduating class.
