Do you wash your towels in vinegar??

I've read that you should wash your towels in vinegar every so often to strip the softener and detergent reside from the fibers of the towel and get them as absorbent as possible.

Basically the run them through a hot cycle with 1 cup of vinegar (no detergent) and then another hot cycle with half a cup of baking soda.

Do you do this? Have you ever even heard of it?

  • I haven't ever used it in the wash, but when I was working at a school cafe the mgr would have us rinse with vinegar water after we mopped. We didn't like the fact of having to mop 3X and then rinse 3X, but it always smelled so clean...lol you could eat off of our floors.

  • to me it was like a hospital or tatoo parlor smell... we had to use bleach in our mop water and then afterward use the vinegar. I think I need to go back to doing that. lol
