by baby boy is five weeks old and he has been fine up to now. am feeding breast feeding him and formula. But today he hasn't had a bowl movement . am worried. Would you please advise me if something wrong happened?day he has not have

  • It is very common for a newborn at that age to go thru a dry spell. It can last for more than a few days. As long as he does not look uncomfortable or straining, don't worry about it. DO NOT give a suppository without consulting your doctor.

    Some moms have luck bicycling their babies' legs or just using a rectal thermometer. If you are still concerned contact your pedi.

  • I will suggest dropping the formula and getting him on a breastmilk-only baseline. First, breastmilk is a natural laxative while formula can constipate. Also, the bottles can interfere with your supply.
