How to help LO with jetlag...

Any advice?
We are 8 hours ahead of normal, and she is getting hit hard with it.
She is waking up at 6, sleeping again by 3pm. Waking up again at 8pm and up until midnight.
I have tried to keep her up, but this kid will sleep whenever/wherever if she is tired. She is missing 1/2 the day! And her eating schedule is off too...
Any mamas traveled with LOs? How did you get them on the right time?
Thanks ladies!

  • Melatonin is typically used for jet lag. Can you check with your doctor about giving her a small amount?

  • The first time I flew from Seattle to Frankfurt, Germany I got jetlag for a couple of days (8-9 hour difference, depending on Daylight Savings Time). The only thing I can think of is to get her up in the morning at the normal time, plan a busy day of go,go,go, maybe let her take an hour nap in the afternoon, and then a normal bedtime routine. If she gets up after bed time send her straight back to bed.

I was in high school, so mostly grown, but the theory is the same. Good luck!!!

  • Try to keep her active and let her walk a lot
