Breast

My dd, who is seven asked me if she needed a bra. I laughed and then she told me her left boob is growing so I felt on there's a bump. I'm going to call her dr. Tomorrow. I feel stupid asking but is she to young to be developing? Should I worry? Ididnt develope until I was 13 so I'm freaking out thinking is it cancer or just her boobs growing!

  • I would take her in, especially if it is only 1 breast. Kids do develop sooner these days, it seems like they start the menstrual cycle sooner, and develop breasts and such sooner.

  • I am concerned that it is only 1 breast,, most likely a gland or something, but please let us know what the doctor says,,!

  • they can start at that age but i would take in her in to be safe in case it is something else. My daughter got her breast buds around 8-9 years old.

  • IMO 7 is a little young. Is she getting pubic hair or arm pit hair? I do remember my girls geting hair before or around that time. Best to ask her doctor.

  • My niece had to wear a bra at age 8. She was obviously starting to develop and you could tell through some of her clothing. We were honestly concerned that she was going to have large breast that would cause problems. I think that what she got at age 8, is all she got. She is 18 now and isn't much bigger.

BUT, as whatever is occurring is currently only one 1 breast, I would take her to a doctor just in case.

  • Take her in, but it is probably her "buds" starting to develop. I was too "young" when I started developing too, and my mother was freaked out, but I ended up (sorry to say this if it concerns you) in a C or D cup before I was out of elementary school. All of the women in my house are very busty, and I was no exception. It just happens earlier and earlier these days. I hope it is something simple like mine was!
