How can I get help with gas bill so I don't get shut off?

I was a couple days late with my payment and on a budget plan. Since I "missed" my payment according to them, they figured a balance from the budget plan and want pa ment in full to avoid shut off. The only payment arrangements they will make requireown. $ 360 I don't have. Yesterday was the first day I worked in the last two weeks. They don't care. I have tried emergency services in my area, but there's not enough time for paperwork. Shut off is tomorrow, got the notice monday. I have things icould sell, but no one wants to buy anyth.
I was told to try local churches, but I don't belong to one and don't know where to go.
Please help me?

  • try calling the 211 number and they can give you a number to a local agency that may be able to help you.

    I know the big electric companies want their money but they sure don't want to work with anyone. but let them make a mistake and double bill... it takes them forever to pay it back... that's what happened to me.

  • the company should have a list of numbers of local charities that might help...we did when i worked for an electric company. just try calling local churches, explain your predicament, and see if they can give you just a some of the $360...most (good) churches wont care that you dont attend.

  • I know here if I can something, anything they will keep it on just as long as I'm paying something. Maybe if you just pay what you can. Wish I could be more help.
