When posting pictures of your child on the internet~ what are the real risks?

what precatutions should one take when posting pics of their child on the internet? what real risks are there? what are your suggestions? what do you do? how do you protect your pictures? are you worried about it?

  • Pictures alone without identifying information are really no more dangerous than taking your child out in public. Use common sense as far as bathtub shots and such. You can also use settings here at CM to prevent anyone but your friends from viewing your pictures. Even if your profile is private, others can still view your pictures if you do not restrict access to them. Check with the groups that you are in to see if the group's settings prevent others from copying and pasting your pictures before posting. There are ways to encode pictures so that they can not easily be copied, but these basic steps will protect your children in most situations.
