Here they are expected to know nothing. They start the year doing ABC/phonics and 123 reviews and sight words and by the end of the year they are reading simple books and adding single and simple double digits. We have an optional pre-k program and they basically teach all year what kinder teaches int he first few months but with more emphasis on play. Just curious how the standards change state by state.
