I'm back for a bit and...

Would like to see your thoughts.

Ok. My SD and her 3mo. old will be moving in for awhile so she can get on her feet. She is in a bad relationship w/ her boyfriend.

My question is: How do I get our 3yr old ready for a new baby in the house?

  • Play up that s/he will be an aunt/uncle to the baby. Let him/her help out with bottle and changing. Then let nature take its course.

  • Make it a big girl type of thing. Like you (meaning your child) will be the big girl or big boy. But also explain about gentle touches with the baby.

  • Thank you Robin. This is going to be a big change for everyone. My dd has been an only child for three years. Her ss and sb live an hour away. The last thing we would do is put those kids out on the street. Wish me luck mommies.
