So my cousin got arrested not long ago and I am actually pretty proud of him.
A couple of months ago, my cousin, Pete, found a little stray puppy in a gas station parking lot. She was half starved and full of fleas and worms. My aunt fell in love with her and decided to keep her and named her Angel. She is only about six pounds, black and white, and I think that she is a cocker spaniel mix. She is very sweet and follows my aunt everywhere.
A couple of weeks ago, their neighbors were outside on their porch, drinking beer and shooting BB guns at cans on the fence. Pete let Angel outside in their fence and, when she saw the neighbors, she ran to the fence, barking and wagging her tail. One of the neighbors laughed at her and then shot her with the BB gun. My cousin jumped the fence and broke the guy's nose. The cops showed up twenty minutes later. Even the arresting officer told him that he would have done the same thing. "You don't mess with a man's momma's dog."
Angel is fine. The BB hit her back hip and she was bruised and limped for a couple of weeks but she is much better now. They have decided to press charges on the neighbor and sue for the vet bills because they pressed charges. The neighbor keeps telling them "No Judge is going to choose your dog over me!" My cousin is willing to take whatever the law hands him but the other idiot doesn't realize that shooting a six pound dog in her own fence with no provocation with a BB gun will, more than likely, get him into more trouble than Pete will for punching him.
There was no reason for him to shoot her. It's not like he was worried that he would get attacked. The neighbors used to call the cops on the German Shepherd mix my aunt and uncle used to have, all the time. They claimed that he was always trying to attack them and they guy's nephew was terrified of him. My cousin asked the kid once, if he was scared of him and he said that he loved the dog and fed him scraps a lot.
This shit is just ridiculous!

Honestly, I would have done the same thing! Good for your Cousin! I had a Golden retriever that when I got her (she was 6 years old) had funny gate. There was nothing at the time that warranted a vet visit but I knew something was off. When she got into her teens she started limping and holding up a back leg. When x-rays were done we discovered several BB's, a hip that had been broken at some point and that she had been shot with buck shot or something (it has been 10 years I can't remember what kind of bullet for sure). If I had had the chance....

Next question overall
Should your religion make you angry or hateful towards others?
