Would a baby be seen at 14 weeks pregnant on a transvaginal ultrasound?

I went for a transvaginal ultrasound to be checked to cysts. The tech didn't ask me to empty my bladder. If I would have been around 14 weeks pregnant would they have seen a baby even if they were looking for cyst and my bladder wasn't empty?

  • good lord, have you taken a test? Yes if it was 14 weeks they would have seen it, but perhaps not at 6 weeks or less.

  • You don't need a full bladder for transvag. That is for abdominal. The abdominal eyes through the bladder. The transvag is already under it.

  • yes, def would have seen it. Even at 5 weeks, your uterus would have a pole in it, and at 7 weeks, a baby (looks more like kidney bean shaped mass) and yolk sac should be visible. There are some doctors who can even tell the gender by 14 weeks....

  • ABSOLUTELY!!! They can see it at 5 weeks transvaginal... Your bladder should have been emptied for that one.
