Healthcare Hmmm...

So if every American has to have healthcare. Does that mean the government will find all the deadbeat parents in the process? Do the illegals still get everything for free? As they are not American citizens.
How does this affect my divorce decree that States my ex has to provide insurance? I'm assuming I'll still have to pay in his absents, as he skips out on paying for healthcare also. Or it'll be against his privicy rights to let the child support agency know his
whereabouts.

Really, I'm concerned about us middle people who make ends meet, not rich but not poor enough for assistance...

Oh...

  • Send a letter to your senator asking these questions, ask if single moms who carry insurance on themselves (yet the ex is ordered to do so) will be fined as well while they are not getting the medical for thier children that is court ordered but no support as well to help offset this fine.

It does not hurt to ask but be prepared for this rebuttle

Its a 95.00 per year fine- much cheaper than a monthly fee and if he's not doing it, sorry that its is hard but it is your responsibility to provide even if the other parent is not, that is why you are the custodial/residential parent.

  • no, Brawwny. the SCOTUS ruled 5/4 in favor of the mandate. Not Congress. Chief Justice Roberts was the deciding vote.

I want to see how this works for a few years before casting any opinion. We really just don't know what's going to happen.

  • Well Mindanao my point was they'd find him - if every American had to sign up for healthcare. I will continue to provide for my children, that's not the real question.
Finding him to pay child support and his half of medical would be nice.

  • The government agency say they cannot find my ex to pay child support - yet we're to believe they'll find everyone to have health insurance.
once again the good get ripped while others go free.
