Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?

whats the point in doing that?

  • I have also wondered that. I am for the death penalty. Those who are given it deserve it. I could care less about the sterilization of the needle. They didn't care about their victims. Oh I am sure it is to be HUMANE to them.

  • They have to follow medical procedure so it is legal. What I don't get is how do they find a doctor/nurse etc to give the injection? Isn't their oath to "first do no harm" and isn't death the ultimate harm? So by doing the "procedure" they are violating their oath.

  • I don't know why they have to make it 'humane' either. I think the method should fit the crime. I wonder why they don't bring back the firing squad.
