I just finished a book and I'm looking for something fiction. I don't really read romance and I'm not looking for any new releases.I like some sci-fi, fantasy, non-fiction, historical fiction, some horror/thriller, classics, etc. I HATE Jodi Picoult lol, just to get that out there.
So.... A few I'm considering, if anyone has suggestions from these: re-reading The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice (loved it in high school, but I'm reading the series in order now), something by Dean Koontz (never read his books before, but friends have given me about 5), something Stephen King (maybe the first Dark Tower?), Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, or an anthology of short horror/thriller stories.
Koontz is great ... which books were you given?
King's Dark Tower is one of those that MUST be read in order starting with The Gunslinger.
Love Rice's vampire series ... another that should be read in order. It gets interesting when she blends the vampires with the witches. I think I loved those better than the separate series. I've read all of both series.
I have been reading a really good series lately. Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series. I normally don't do sci-fi, period tales but these are great. They have knights, magic (fury crafting is what they call it), sword play, different species ... there is even a political undertone (royals trying to overthrow the throne). He also writes The Dresden Files.
Damn ... I haven't been any help. Um, read Koontz first and then dive into the others. =)
