I woke up this morning to my oldest daughters' blood curdling scream "MAMA!! GET IN HERE NOWWWWWWWW!"
So like a fool, I go running thinking something is desperately wrong, waking both my DH and the baby. My cat's "big kill" is laying by the shoes in our entry way. The girls are standing over it, and my oldest says "Don't touch it Esther, it is probably just playing dead".
Once I see what it is, I reassure my oldest that it is, in fact, NOT A POSSUM, and it is *really*dead. Seriously? Since the baby was screaming (and the dead thing wasn't on my carpet LOL), I told them just to leave it alone, and that I would take care of it after I nursed and changed the baby.
Fat chance. My middle DD (age 3) came in while I was nursing and said that it wasn't dead, because she smashed it with my vacuum attachment and it "coughed". I told her it did not cough...and to leave it alone.
Right as I finished changing the baby and was about to deal with the mouse, my oldest DD (6) comes in looking really proud of herself, and says "don't worry about it mom...I handled it". I asked her where she put it and told her to wash her hands really well...yeah...she FLUSHED IT DOWN THE TOILET. Shudder.
What is wrong with my children? Hmmm...I guess there was a question in there!
OMG Nimue930! I'm so glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything when I read that! I can just picture it now! Oh I needed that laugh! Thank you! OP- obviously your girls are perfectly normal. Be glad your cat's present didn't clog the toilet! lol :p
