No charges for mother who abandoned severely disabled daughter at bar

Gosh I think it is heartbreaking.  I understand that the mother was exhauseted but such callous disregard. And a bar!! Its like leaving a 3 year old in a bar.  At least she should be charged with child endangerment.  It should not matter that the child is 19 years old. mentally she is 3.  This law needs to change.

  • There is def. a gap in the laws there. There is elder abuse, child abuse, etc. but what about abuse of a disabled person? How about a hate crime? Neglect? That child needs a guardian. I hope they find a responsible one! That woman is a poor excuse for a mother! She makes me sick! :(

  • That was cold of that mom. I can't believe she would abandon her daughter like that and then wonder what all the fuss was about. That poor girl. Yeah, the laws need to be changed so no one gets away with something like this again!

  • didn't read the article. But any mom who would do that is just pathetic. There are other ways to get help. Good side? maybe now the girl will get much needed help, respect, kindness, and love?

  • Which is why she drove to Tennesee. I am not positive but I believe in Ill. she would still responsible for all her bills in a facility. In Tenn. The state to charge.

I could not do it but then if I were desperate enough who knows.
