eczema on her scalp?

okay i just found out my daughter has eczema. today i noticed her itching her head and theres a dry scaly patch. could it be part of her eczema or something else? if it could be eczema on her scalp what should i do?

  • talk to your dr. it might also just be dry scalp so condition her really well while in the bath/shower.

  • yes it can be eczema on her scalp. they make special shampoos and conditioners for it but i'm not sure which ones are safe for LO's. Ask her dr., he would know which ones work best.

  • Yes, it can be eczema on her scalp. Eczema on the scalp is called seborrhoeic dermatitis or seborrheoic eczema. Check with your doctor what you should do (I don't know how old your daughter is). One thing our doctor told us to do was put hydrocortisone cream (1%) on the itchy part (like Cortaid). Then, our doctor told us to use Neutrogena T-Gel, which didn't work for us but does for others. We ended up with a prescription strength version of Selsun Blue, which cured my daughter, and now we just use the regular Selsun Blue to maintain her scalp itch free.

  • at walmart in the baby section there is a product called gentle naturals baby ezcema cream. Its really good
