I went to the ER last night because I had a lot of pain in my cervix with lower back pain at 17 weeks pregnant. When I was feeling pain I did wash my hands well and check my cervix which was much bigger then normal(over a finger across). I did some charting of my cycle before I got pregnant so I know how open it usually is about 1/2 cm to about a one,my own doctor also said that when she checked me earlier on I was 1cm probably because I've dilated before with my son.
They checked me at the ER and I am 2 1/2 cms and the plug is gone. ER doctor doesn't care about anything below a 4 and all i got was a take it easy went into this long speech about how I could have my cervix could've always been like that but honestly it didn't start out like that.
Has anybody else had this happen this early? What happened? I know that it hasn't just always been that open. Does this increase the chance of premature labor?
