Well, do you think he got a good deal or not?

Well my son just got a 2002 Buick Century for $1,500. His fiance's stepdad checked it out for him & they said it runs good. But it has 233,000 miles on it already!!! Any guesses on how long it will last, or if he will get his money's worth out of it? (His other car was a '97 Pontiac Bonneville, which he had for almost 3 yrs til the engine blew a couple of weeks ago)

  • Depends. Was the engine rebuilt at some point? It had to have been. 233k on a buick is unheard of.

  • Well I bought a used Volvo many, many years ago and it lasted with normal repairs for 4 years I then sold it for what I paid for it $1000. So if you had it checked out yeah sounds like it is a good deal.
