my 8 month old son has suddenly stopped eating and insists on breast milk only. what should i do?

my son only takes my feed, no formula.

  • It could be several things. Ear infection, teething, growth spurt cycle. ...their main source of nutrition comes from breastmilk, so if this just lasts for a few days, I wouldn't worry. If it seems very unlike your ds to you or you are worried, I would call the dr. GL!

  • I would try some tylenol to see if it is a teething issue? Otherwise he might be going through a growth spurt and the frequent nursing helps adjust your supply of milk to meet his new needs.

  • nurse him! if he does not want food, do not force it, as your breastmilk has 100% of the nutrition he needs.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. Breast milk is best for babies anyway. Just follow his eating cues and if all he wants is mom, consider it grand to have that extra bonding time. Soon he'll be weeks away from high school, 6' tall and going out for football!
