Car seat question.

Ok we have my son's car seat base in the car with the seatbelt (no latches here). The problem I have is that I have it lightened and locked, but it loosens itself. The seatbelt doesn't seem to stay locked and unfortunately it is the only spot I can put the seat in. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?

  • There is a little metal clip thing that should have come with the car seat that you can use to keep the seat belt tight. On my daughter's infant seat, it was clipped underneath the base. If you do not have one, you can go to the baby department in most stores and buy a new one or call the manufacturer to see if they will send you another.

  • 13 years ago when I had my older son, I had the same issue. I used a seatbelt locking clip.

  • There may be a recall or something wrong with the seat belt altogether. Google recalls on your car then call the dealership & ask them to take a look at it. That happened with my sisters honda & my DH car too. Seatbelts can be faulty, have it checked.
