I want to make chilli and the only way I know how is with a packet of seasonings.

Without the packet what seasonings do other people use. I don't have a lot of different stuff in my pantry. Thanks

  • Chili powder, oregano, garlic powder. You could also put in a little Tabasco sauce.

  • cumin, chili powder, salt & pepper. I fyou don't have garlic and onion, some combination of minced/powder/salt, but cut back on regular salt.

  • I season the meat with garlic powder, onion and black pepper. Then after I've added the other ingredients I add cayenne pepper (red pepper) and chili powder and a pinch of brown sugar.

  • chili powder (ancho chile powder is really good), granulated garlic and onion, fresh ground pepper, and a touch of cumin. Oh, and salt. It won't taste right without salt, IMO.
