Does your 4 year old still take naps?

My daughter just turned 4 a few weeks ago and still takes naps. Now they are not scheduled or consistent, but most days at some point or another, she gets pooped and takes a little nap. Is this common? I'm not worried about her or anything, she's very active, so it does not surprise me that she needs the naps. I'm really just curious, because my niece stopped taking naps at 2.

  • My Son took consistant 2 hour naps during the day until he turned 5. Now he naps in the afternoon when he feels tired. He will lay on the couch & take a snooze while he is watching TV. He is a rocket during the day so if he needs a charge up he'll sleep.

  • my now 10 and 7 year olds were still taking good daily naps at 4 - it was not forced or a fight to get them down either. 1 would take rests, just lay on the couch or wherever and look at books, and the other 2 flat-out refused to even try to rest at 4.
