  • I think we'd have a talk about how it's not nice to call people names or talk bad about them. I don't know if I'd punish him, but make him see how hurtful his words were. Then maybe warn him that he'd be punished if that behavior continues.

  • I would sit down & explain that it is wrong to call anyone a name or say anything bad to hurt another's feelings. I would say "how would you feel if you were called that?" I would show him that I am disappointed in his behavior & make him apologize. If it ever happened again then he would be punished by loosing a privilege for a specific time period.

  • No, but we would talk about how even words that aren't "bad" can hurt sometimes. And I would think to myself that his cousin needs to get some thicker skin.

  • Punish? No. Discuss (in our situation AGAIN) why we shouldn't say things we observe all the time, even if they are true, &/or is our opinion? YES

  • I would not punish but we would have a discussion about the power of words and how they can hurt people and how we should choose our words wisely.

  • I don't think I would punish him for that. I would do what these other ladies said, sit down and have a talk about people's feelings and what sorts of things are rude to say.
