Anyone have problems after a tubal? adult content

I had my tubes tied 5 weeks after I had my daughter. She will be 2 in October. My problem is that since having the tubal, my periods are horrible. They still only last about 5 days, but are super heavy. I go through a box of tampons in a day. Before I had it done, they were never this bad. Anyone else have a problem with this after the procedure? Is there anything that can be done about it? I work full time and running to the restroom gets pretty annoying. To me and my boss.

  • What were you using for birth control before? If you were taking the pill, it absolutely makes your period lighter. So no more pill could equal heavier periods for you. Aside from that, pregnancy just flat out changes your body. It is not at all unusual for your periods to be different post pregnancy.

You might want to look into using pads. I don't love them myself, but I don't have time to keep running to the bathroom when I'm working either. Seriously though, if you are really going through an entire box of tampons a day - I mean what is that, 30 tampons? - you might want to talk to your doctor.

  • There's 20-40 tampons in a box - you NEED to see a doctor! My periods got heavier after I had my tubal, but nowhere near being like that.

  • I did not experience any problems after having a tubal. You should see your obgyn or primary.

  • If you were on hormonal BC before, it is most likely due to that, but I think you should call your doctor to be sure.

  • ever since my tubes were ties I have had HORRIBLE periods. The first day is like a tampon an hour... sometimes less but then is starts to slow down from there. It only last 4-5 days. I have no idea if it is just normal period changes since having children or if it is related to having my tubes tied...

A box a day is a bit much though... I would consult someone.

  • Anonymous...The recovery from it was not bad at all. I was back to work in 2 days. Just watch lifting anything heavy for awhile. I was on BC before but I was off of it for a year before I got pregnant.
