i have seen posts in the past where people here talk about specific amounts given for food stamps and if it's enough. i haven't seen (although probably has been discussed) income limits and TANF payments. I just learned that the income limit for TANF for a family of 3 is $824 - to cover mortgage/rent, electricity, water, phone, loan/credit card payments, household needs like dish soap and toilet paper, and any clothing, diapers, feminine hygiene, gas if you have car (necessary here) etc. etc.
Do you know anyone that could live on that without help (disregarding food/foodstamps)? I have extremely cheap rent where I live, but just that plus electricity and water exceed that amount. I guess they figure poor people don't need deodorant...
