back to school shopping for a girl 6 and boy 7 1/2 is killing me. the things they want I don't approve of usually (especially daughter) and the things I think are winners they worry are babyish and I certainly don't want them to be picked on for something avoidable
do other moms stress about clothes too?

No, my oldest (almost 6) picks out her clothes. She has never asked for anything inappropriate. The only thing I have to make sure of is that she stays within dress code: no spaghetti straps, flip flops or thong sandals.
