What do you do while your child is napping?

I try to fit in so much in that 1 and 1/2 hour time period...cleaning, checking e-mail, exercising, showering, etc. etc. When I'm working out, I always feel like I should be cleaning, or ironing, or doing laundry, but I HAVE to make time to take care of myself. What do you do?

  • Read, cross stitch, fold laundry, scrapbook, whatever I feel like. My girls nap for about 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours a day so I have a lot of time. Occasionally I'll get into an organizing mood or something and clean out movie cabinets, game cabinets, etc.

We have Volunteers of America coming next week to pick up donations so that's what I'll be doing this week....going through everything trying to purge as much as possible. So no reading for me this week!! :-)

  • Just like everyone else, I use that time to clean or cook or something of that nature. Very rarely will I lay down to take a nap myself.

  • Very rarely do my girls take a nap at the same time since my oldest has decided she's not taking naps any more.

  • on a good day i have about 45 minutes to an hour between the time i lay my 3 year old down for her nap to the time my 7 month old wakes up from his nap. i typically use that time to start dinner and clean the house.
sometimes i curl up with a book or knit instead.

  • I normally just take time out for myself... sometimes I take a nap too!! Try getting your little one to help you with clothes... my son LOVES helping me do clothes and will "help" me with cleaning... isnt really helping but I always try to get him into everything I am doing so he feels like he is a big helper!! But I normally just get the stuff done that I CANT do while he is up!!
