Where can I get a debt consolidation loan?

I NEED one NOW! There is no way that we can afford these monthly payments and we are almost over our credit limit! Where is the best place to get one that has a low fixed monthly rate.... I'm about to loose control!

  • Remember when you go to consolidation your credit will take a huge hit for a while. Like another poster said you could wind up in debt again. You need to learn how to manage your money and pay your debt in a way that keeps you debt free in the future. It is not easy but we have done it. We had to cut out cellphones, cable, Internet and other things that are not necessary. We had an additional 300 a month to put towards debt doing that and got it paid that much quicker.

  • I am going to warn you that a debt CON solidation is like putting a bandaid on a gushing wound. The change that you are expecting increase in wages, new job etc. won't pan out and you will be in more debt. You usually end up charging the cc cards back up. We will lose our home because we didn't get real help soon enough. Check out or go to a non profit organization like CCCS for help.

  • 2 summers ago, we paid off all our CC bills through a company called CREDITGUARD OF AMERICA! It's not a loan, but they do consolidate all your bills to one monthly payment! They get a list of your creditors, negotaiate monthly payments & interest rates & tell you how much for how long. It took us 4 years to pay all ours off, but it was worth it! We had over 20 accounts, including doc bills, and our monthly payment was only $414.00 per month! If you are interested, you can check them out at CreditguardofAmerica. com.

  • i do not recommend doing debt consolidation at all. you can negotiate your bills yourself for free. all you have to do is call. i worked in the mortgage/real estate/foreclosure industry for four years and learned A LOT. if you own a home call your lender ASAP. they will work with you. most companies will you just have to pick up the phone. which can be scary, but it is worth it.
