SIL Vent

My SIL posted her new tattoo she got on her shoulder. By the size of it,it had to have been several hundred dollars
They've been on welfare for almost 11 years. BIL has been out of work since Sept of 2011. He refuses to take any job that is below him(whatever that means) and she works part time at a car wash.
So they can come up with 200,300 dollars for a tattoo? I'm guessing this is another payday loan they can't afford
The kids wear busted ass hand me downs and momma get a tattoo.
Her job is seasonal. The place is only open 2 days a week for a few hours during the fall/winter. Winter here lasts Nov-Apr

  • I don't understand why people cannot delay gratification. They are behaving like children when they are so frivolous w/ their money. And totally selfish if that tattoo took priority over the needs of her children. It's an actual permanent reminder of her parental fail!!!

  • Puke. I can just hear the welfare chant "why shouldn't I have something for myself...I paid into the system".

  • I agree, it's annoying as hell. It pisses me off, and I'm not even related to the lazy slugs. But however ill gotten, it's their money; they unfortunately have the right to spend it, or rather waste it, any way they want. As long as the kids aren't actually neglected, all you can do is shrug it off. Another set of parents who dipped their common sense out of the stupid bucket by mistake.

  • I get so frustrated when we see them. He goes on and on how much it sucks that he can't find a job. hey dude, you take ANYTHING you can get. You have 2 kids that rely on you. Why she didn't look for a permanent full time job is beyond me
they're not even trying to better themselves. I guess riding the welfare wagon is much easier. It wasn't intended to supply you with what you need forever.
