I tried to train our ds when he turned 2. I knew he was smart enough, and understood going on the potty. That failed horribly!! So, we waited until he was ready. He was about 3 when he started showing signs of wanting to use the big boy potty. By 4, he is completely trained, including night time. We used the sticker chart, (1 sticker for #1, 2 for #2) Once he got so many stickers he got to pick out of the treasure chest. To get him to go poopy on the potty, all we had to do, was let him pick his big boy underwear out at the store. When he would wet in them, he helped rinse them out, if he pooped in them, he had to throw them away. Only took him 1 time pooping in his underwear and he was so upset that he had to throw away his buzz and woody underwear away, he never had an accident again. You just need to find out what works for them. Also, make sure you either limit their drinks 1-2 hrs before bed time.
