do you have to be dilated in order for your water to break if it does happen to break?

sorry for the dumb questions.

  • No, I was not dilated when my water broke at 28 weeks.

  • Your cervix has to be open at least a teeny tiny bit, enough for fluid to escape.

  • Your cervix is never 100% closed like a crabs buttocks, lol. Best analogy I could come up with.
