Is this normal?

my sister that just turned 14 started her periods alittle less then 2 years ago and they last 2 weeks straght I asked a few close friends of mine and they say I should take her to the doctors (I've had mine for almost 10 years and the only time mine has been longer they 3 days is when I had my children) does anyone else have this happen to them?

It wouldn't be normal for me, but yet I've heard some people having some weird cycles.
