Is this really worse? Oatmeal cookies vs. instant oatmeal...

I was thinking of making oatmeal cookies for the car for schools tarting. Making them with stone rolled oats, wheat flour, raisins and walnuts and maybe a little flax seed... My Dh is telling me that is not healthy. I told him it was probably better than the instant apple and cinnamon oatmeal they normally eat... What do you think?

  • That is a very healthy snack. Good idea too! The instant flavored oatmeal has a ton of sugar in it. So I'm siding with you.

  • I don't think it's much different. Those instant flavored oatmeals have loads of sugar and not much fiber. Your cookies are probably healthier in both areas.

  • The cookies sound good. The pre-flavored oatmeal is loaded with sugar.
