  • Anything is a train to this kid. He lined up orange cones at an event we were at on Saturday and called it a choo choo. He'll even walk along a curb and call it tracks lol.

  • Sometimes my daughter pretends she's a princess locked in a tower, which is the top bunk bed in her room, and I've got to rescue her. Sometimes she pretends she's a police officer. And sometimes she acts out stories she's heard or TV shows, especially Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs, and Go Diego go! Once in a while, she'll retend she's in the circus or in a ballet.

  • My sons (turned 4 last month) are currently really into building things. Lots of construction, but not just with blocks, etc. Yesterday, one used flattened cardboard to build "walls" and set up his own kitchen, with a "woodstove" (one of those baby activity cubes with a wire maze on top) complete with a safety gate around it (just like our real woodstove) that was made of the two base pieces of his big sister's American Girl doll Molly's camp tent. His twin is super-into building fairy houses and thinks about them wherever we go. He's always collecting pine cones, bark, sticks, twigs, shells, rocks, dried flower stalks, leaves, fresh flower petals, corn silks, peach pits, nut shells, old bird nests, etc. to add to the fairy house at the base of the birch tree in our yard.
They both love "making" turntables or televisions with boxes or various parts (computer components, old camera docks, etc.) and string as "power cords," etc.
